A day dedicated to retreat can be a powerful way to deepen insight and cultivate states of peace - whether you are at a meditation center or in your own living room.
Common Ground regularly offers half-day and daylong retreats at the Minneapolis center and on Zoom. All experience levels are welcome.
A typical retreat includes:
- Instructions and guided meditations from a teacher
- Alternating periods of sitting and walking meditation
- Time for questions and group discussion
At these non-residential retreats, participants commit to putting aside regular obligations and social engagements, even when joining from home, and intentionally limit speech and phone use. This simplifying of life supports a settling and calming of the mind and heart, and this settling in turn enables wisdom and compassion to arise. Please join us for these days of practice!
Typically, half-day retreats are held the first Saturday of the month and daylong retreats the fourth Saturday of the month.
